Hunshikatti Lord Anjaneya Temple

This is the Lord Anjaneya temple at Swamiji’s birth place Hunshikatti

At the age of 10, Shri Swamiji had a visitation from Lord Anjaneya, known as Lord Hanuman, the son of Anjani, who gave him a fruit. Upon eating the fruit, Swamiji’s Pashyanti vani (sublime psychic energy) was awakened and he was able to remember his past samskaras (dispositions in past life). Lord Anjaneya is known as a deity with residing power of prana and is worshipped for attaining health, power, celibacy, a true discipleship and control over prana.

Sri Rudra Muni Festival at Hunshikatti

Sri Rudra Muni had blessed Shri Swamiji’s mother before Swamiji’s birth. When we visited Hunshikatti that day it was Sri Rudra Muni annual festival day at Hunshikatti. The video shows the festival at the temple.

H. H. Mahatapasvi Shri Kumarswamiji was born in 1909 on the day of ‘Rakhi Pournima’, at the village Hunshikatti, Belgaum district, Karnataka state, India. Shrimati Chinnamma and Shri Lakshman-appa, a pious married couple, were ardent devotees of a Sage Shri Rudramuni at Hunshikatti village. Even while being pregnant mother Chinnamma used to go and clean Shri Rudramuni’s Ashram every day. Pleased with her devotion and service, Shri Rudramuni blessed the Mother and asked her if she wants anything. The mother said, “Bless me with a son who will bring glory and peace to the family.” Shri Rudramuni said, “Yes, you will get a son who will bring glory and peace not only to your family but also to the whole world.” Chinnamma was very happy and with that blessing she went away. But Shri Rudramuni’s eyes became wet with tears because he could see the future and he saw that the Mother would not live to take her newly born baby in her arms — her son who was later to become a great Yogi, Saint and Gurudeva, Mahatapasvi Shri Kumarswamiji.

Ishtalinga Making Demonstration

The video shows how an artist makes an Ishtalinga

Ishtalinga is an indispensable means for the practice of Shiva-yoga. It is made of light grey slate stone which contains and generates electricity. To be kept intact, it is coated all over with a fine durable paste made of certain ingredients. The colour of the paste is indigo or blue-black. The colour of bhrumadhya chakra (i.e., agneya chakra or brow chakra) is also indigo.

Ishtalinga is placed on the palm of the left hand so raised as to come in line with the centre of the eye-brows. Behind the back and just above the left shoulder an oil-fed lamp or candle should be placed so that the light of the lamp is reflected in the coating of Ishtalinga. With half-closed eyes and without blinking one should fix his attention upon the Linga, the coating of which is blue-black or indigo serving to widen and deepen concentration. The colour of the paste and the colour of Agneya Chakra, being akin in nature, they act and react upon each other thus generating electromagnetic waves which dash against the pineal gland situated in the third ventricle of the brain. The pineal gland is present in everybody and although it is dormant it can be stirred into action by the process of Shiva-yoga.

Shri Swamiji’s Room at Saptapur

This is a small room where Shri Swamiji lived before finally moving to Tapovan in 1965. It was here in this same room Gurudeva received holy mantra ‘He Prabho Praseed Aum’ from divine. Also seen here in the outside garden are open tanks where Gurudeva did long penances sitting in neck deep water. This place belonged to Navakalyan Math, Dharwad.

Sadlyin 2010-11, Navakalyan math rented this land for commercial purposes where a gas station stands today and now nothing in this video is existent except this little room which is currently used as a storage room.

Naviluteerth Trip

Param Poojya Mahatapsvi Shri Kumarswamiji did long penances here at beautiful Naviluteerth on the bank of Malaprabha river in 1932. Today the place where Gurudeva sat is under dam’s back water.

The exact spot of Gurudeva’s mediation is shown here right behind two men are standing. It was here in 1932 Gurudeva attained oneness with the ruler of time and space. Later in an article on Himself, Gurudeva wrote “…..There are three grades in * * pranayama – prakrita, vaikrita and kumbhaka. The characteristic of the first grade is profuse perspiration or sveda (Sanskrit) of the second grade is shivering and quaking or kampa (Sanskrit) of the third grade is levitation or Utthaana (Sanskrit). In 1932 while I was practising pranayama at Naviluteerth* * *, for the first time I had experience of levitation and that was also my last experience……”
